COLLABORATION

Thank you everyone for your work today. I enjoyed watching and listening to everyone collaborate. I encourage you to continue building relationships with colleagues at the other campus. Email, You Tube channels, Skype, etc. are excellent ways to keep the collaboration going. I would like to her from you. What are your thoughts about our work today?

It was awesome having a group of people come into our school enthusiastically embracing the culture at DES. It was nice to collaborate and meet new people and work with true professionals. I especially enjoyed the mixing up of the grade levels and hearing lots of positive discussion from Porter. It was an engaging and meaninful day with colleagues!

I enjoyed it because it was very affirming to see all the evidence of the great things we have going on at DES. I pass by many of these tools (CI, 7 Habits, technology apps) on a daily basis and take it for granted. It was neat to have that checklist and know exactly where we could go to find them. There was never a time when our group had to scramble to find something. There was evidence everywhere of our commitment to continuous improvement and the 7 habits! I also enjoyed collaborating with Porter. It's nice sharing ideas, frustrations, and finding solutions with our grade level counterparts.

I think our time today was indeed well-spent. I really enjoyed the scavenger hunt with our BISD colleagues from Porter. It provided an opportunity to learn a little more about the technology and to mix fun with work (and I am a big fan of that!)...I also met some people I did not get to know during the 7 Habits training. I look forward to meeting at the Porter Elementary campus! --Fred V.

I really enjoyed working with the ladies from Porter. It was funny to watch our group come alive as we did the video...at the beginning everybody said they weren't creative or energetic but as time passed they all came out of their shell.
It was also good to talk with other math teachers...to find out that our day to day curriculum guide was incorrect.
I think our collaboration will continue to spark conversation throughout the district and others will want to bring their campuses on board.
Great day yesterday!!!!

I really enjoyed getting together with Porter faculty yesterday. For me it is always like having family over. Showing Porter how we have implemented "The Leader in Me," CAFE and IPICK and Daily 5, it is my hope that they gained something new to do with their students. I look forward to meeting again with Porter to learn more from them.

Collaboration is always a good example of Vygotsky and his social interaction theory, (Sorry, I'm in the mix of theories etc., so I like making those connections from theory to practice!!!) I like knowing that our school has many examples of the practices we preach and teach. I look forward to meeting at Porter and seeing their many contributions to the successes of students through the 7Habits and other practices. Creativity, collaboration and communication at it's best!!!

It was fun working together on the video. Our group began to loosen up & become more creative as we got into the project. Time to work and learn and get to know one another is so important. I discovered strengths and abilitites in our group. It was definitely a time of collaboration.

I always enjoy seeing other campuses and collaborating ideas with teachers from other campuses. We always seem to find out that we are all more alike than different, no matter what schools we teach at. The video scavenger hunt was a great way to mix up grade levels and schools and remind us of fun activities that children can create. Thanks for having us yesterday!

It was refreshing to spend some time in a different, inviting environment. We can tell the students who walk in the doors at DES spend their days in a positive, uplifting setting!

It was also good to share some Investigations ideas with Charles.

Thanks so much for having us.

I enjoyed the time we had after with the grade level groups. Talking with others that are doing what we are doing every day is so valuable. I know that I took a lot of that conversation and look forward to more collaboration in the future! =)

Monday was a great day and I enjoyed seeing all of the exciting things that are happening at DES. It occurred to me that the reason our two campuses work so well together is the similarity between us. The working environment at both campuses seems to be warm and supportive...essential to a great school!

I really enjoyed collaborating with the Porter staff on Monday. The groups were a lot of fun and we were able to see each other in a "silly" kind of way. I especially enjoyed talking to Kim about PE stuff since I don't have that commonality with others in our building. She answered a lot of questions and we shared some great ideas. I'm looking forward to our next staff development in January.

As I observed the teacher groups, I saw a lot of interaction. It was very encouraging to watch as groups uploaded their videos helping each other accomplish the task at hand. I saw collaboration, cooperation and use of habits 2, 4, and 6 being used over and over. The excitement and ease from actually doing a small project has inspired our DES staff to be on a waiting list for our 6 cameras. I really believe we are making a difference in the lives of our students and each other.

I really enjoyed the entire morning with Porter! It was fun for me to go all over DES with my group and see all the rooms and what our great teachers are doing in them with CI, 7 Habits, and technology. My EAs get to do that almost every day, but I do not. I also enjoyed meeting with the Porter special ed. teachers and learning that their frustrations were much the same as mine. Also, thanks so much Ginny for sharing the online information about math. I look forward to going to Porter in the future.

I enjoyed our time together on Monday. I especially liked the scavenger hunt and getting to see more of the school as we were "looking for things". That is a great way to get new ideas for old concepts. Thanks to DES for hosting us!

I know I wasn't here for the workday on Monday, but I wanted to say how impressed I am with the efforts both teachers and students have made to embrace the seven habits. I was in Trevor's classroom last week, and one of his students said, "Look. Our group is synergizing!" Pretty awesome stuff!

I truly enjoyed our time together and and felt like it was well worth our time to collaborate and share ideas. I really felt encouragement, support, and a sense of togetherness after our sharing time with grade levels. I loved the Scavenger Hunt!! I look forward to more days where we can work together with DES!
